Mugnaini's illustrations for Ray Bradbury's work are considered definitive by the majority of collectors, and rarely come on the market. The present work is a larger version of chapter 30, Something Wicked This Way Comes when the boy, Will, pierces and brings down the Dust Witch's hot air balloon. Ray Bradbury enjoyed the published image, so the artist created a larger version for the author, and this original hung in his home. A certificate of authenticity signed by Alexandra Bradbury accompanies this lot.
